Interesting Research

An interesting source I have found so far is a M.D. Neurostimulating Blog by Dr. Shock. He lists 5 good reasons why Video Games have an positive affect on the brain: playing action video games can improve visual attention to the periphery of a computer screen, action games can improve adults’ abilities to make fine discriminations among different shades of gray (called contrast sensitivity), which is important for activities such as driving at night, to name a couple.
My question is Are Video Games Good Or Bad For The Brain And Children? So far I am keeping my question the same, my thoughts have not changed.
The only challenge I have faced so far is finding good articles on my subject that include an official author.

  1. Sounds like you're doing good work. Have you asked the librarians for help? I know there are credible, authored sources about this topic. One name to look out for would be Hamby. I took a psych class with him as a freshman, and his MA thesis was on video games, and he thought the same way you do. Also, make sure you are finding credible sources with whom you disagree so that you can get a thorough view of this "conversation."
